An early morning shooting is being investigated by the Springfield Police.
Officers responded to a call at 3:22 a.m. regarding shots fired in the 2300 block of South 14th Street.
Upon arrival officers discovered fourteen 9-millimeter shell casings in the roadway.
A home in the area was struck and a resident inside suffered a surface-level, non-life-threatening wound to the leg from shrapnel from the door.
