Two people died in a crash on Tuesday morning that took place on Interstate 55 near the I-72 split in Springfield.
According to Illinois State Police they responded to the crash at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday. A passenger vehicle struck the rear of what was described as a “a truck tractor semi-trailer.”
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
