The Springfield School District 186 Board of Education on Monday night unanimously approved the appointment of Doctor Terrance Jordan to succeed Jennifer Gill as Superintendent.

Jordan has worked as an educator at numerous schools in District 186 since 2003.

He was principal of Black Hawk Elementary starting in 2014 and has been a member of District Administrative staff since 2021, currently serving as assistant superintendent of family, community and school leadership.

Board Member Sarah Blissett called it “the easiest vote [she] has ever made.”

Jordan’s contract is for three years with a starting salary of 230 thousand dollars.

Dr. Jordan will begin as superintendent in July of this year, taking over for Jennifer Gill, who will retire after 12 years in the position.
