Meet Our Latest Friend
The Morning Routine with Rocki & Lacey was joined by Ronald Homann of Soujourn Shelter & Services to discuss February Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. We talked about how he got involved with Sojourn and how Sojourn got it’s start here in Springfield, IL. We also spoke about Teen Dating Violence and also what healthy relationships look like.
Red Flags Teens Often Miss
“A lot of teens don’t realize it’s unhealthy because it doesn’t start extreme.”
Common red flags:
“They get mad when you hang out with friends”
“They check your phone or want your passwords”
“They say ‘If you loved me, you would…’”
“They apologize, then do it again”
“They blame you for their anger”
Takeaway:
“Jealousy is not a compliment. Control is not protection.”
