Springfield Police are investigating the shooting death of a 31-year-old Springfield man late Friday.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon did not release the man’s identity but said an autopsy is scheduled for today.
The man was taken by ambulance from the 1300 block of East Jackson Street to HSHS St. John’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff shortly before midnight.
Police did not provide additional details.
