Fire damaged the former King’s Daughters Home in Springfield on Sunday afternoon.
A passerby called Springfield firefighters after seeing flames coming from the building at Sixth Street and Black Avenue.
Firefighters said several crews were needed due to the size of the building and its heavily fortified entrances.
The extent of the damage was not immediately known.
