This is primary election day in Illinois.
Notable Sangamon County races include a Republican primary for sheriff between incumbent Paula Crouch and challenger and former deputy David Timm, a building bond referendum for Ball-Chatham schools and a county-wide referendum on implementing a mental health board with a half-percent sales tax.
Non-partisan ballots are available to vote on referendum issues.
Polling places are open until 7 pm.
