While the Primary election has grabbed a majority of the headlines another election was held over the weekend as the Illinois Education Association announced a trio of new office holders on Saturday.
Karl Goeke was elected the union’s next president, Gina Harris was elected vice president and Gladys Márquez was elected the secretary treasurer.
Goeke, who had been a classroom teacher until three years ago when he was elected vice president of IEA, had most recently been serving the remainder of the term of IEA President Al Llorens, who died in September.
