The Springfield Police Department conducted a traffic detail on March 17th at the intersection of Sangamon Avenue and Dirksen Parkway.
During this detail, officers conducted 39 traffic stops in a 3-hour period with 37 citations issued.
Year to date similar traffic details have seen officers conduct 391 traffic stops with 317 citations issued.
The Springfield Police Department will continue to use a data-driven approach to appropriately deploy officers to areas of the city that are seeing higher incidents of traffic violations and accidents.
