Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is warning of a text scam claiming you have committed a traffic or tollway violation and must pay a fine.
Raoul reminds Illinoisians that text scams like this are intended to trick consumers into sharing personal and financial information.
If you receive what you believe is a scam text the Attorney General encourages consumers to file a complaint on the Attorney General’s website or with the Federal Bureau of Investigations’ (FBI) Internet Crime Complaint Center.
