The Morning Routine with Rocki and Lacey was joined by Betsy Dollar from the Springfield Art Association. We talked about how she ended up in Springfield and her work with the Springfield Art Association, including the upcoming  Buffalo Birthday Bonanza on Friday, May 8, 5:30-7:30PM.

Free and open to the public

Join us for a night of fun as we celebrate our buffalo turning 50 years old! The buffalo has planned quite the shindig, and is inviting you to join him in celebration! He plans to have games, light refreshments, a silent auction, party hats, and more!

As Springfield gears up for warmer days and school-free schedules, the Springfield Art Association (SAA) is once again bringing color, imagination, and hands-on learning to local families through its beloved Kids Summer Art Camps. At the heart of this effort is Betsy Dollar, the longtime Executive Director of the Springfield Art Association, whose leadership continues to shape the organization’s mission of accessible, high-quality visual arts education for the community.

Dollar oversees a dynamic team of educators, curators, and studio managers who help deliver programs that inspire creativity across all ages. Her role as Executive Director is highlighted in SAA’s official staff listings, where she leads this century-old nonprofit dedicated to visual arts education, exhibitions, historic preservation, and public programming.

Registration for SAA’s 2026 Summer Art Camps is officially underway, offering weeklong sessions packed with creativity for kids ages 4 through high school. Camps run June 1 through July 24, 2026, with sessions scheduled Monday through Friday. These programs encourage young artists to experiment with sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, painting, and even immersive history experiences depending on their age group.
To learn more or register for the 2026 Summer Art Camps, families can visit the Springfield Art Association’s official Summer Camp page. With the leadership of Betsy Dollar and the dedication of the SAA team, this summer promises to be another inspiring season of creativity and discovery for young artists across Springfield.
