Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon can confirm the death of a 58-year-old Springfield man who is involved in a motorcycle accident on Wabash Avenue in Springfield yesterday
According to reports the motorcyclist may have been speeding through a red light on Wabash Ave when they hit a car that was turning.
The motorcyclist was thrown about 300 feet from the point of impact.
The motorcyclist was transported to Springfield Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff at 10:29 PM last night.
An investigation into the death remains under investigation by the Springfield Police Department and the Sangamon County Coroner.
