Man becomes county’s 33rd victim of COVID-19

A man in his 80s who lives in Sangamon County but was a patient at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis became the 33rd COVID-19-related death attributed to the county, officials said Tuesday.The man had tested negative for the virus at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield on April 23, but tested positive on May 11 at Barnes-Jewish, said Sangamon County spokesman Jeff Wilhite.The man had been on a ventilator in St. Louis, Wilhite said.Also Tuesday, four new […]
