Scotty McCreery wrote his current hit, “In Between,” back in 2015 just days after writing his former chart-topper, “Five More Minutes.” At the time, Scotty was still in college, finishing up more than two years at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and dating his now-wife, Gabi (guh-bee).
Scotty tells us: “The song was just, when we were talking that day, it was kind of who I was as a person at that time. The one major thing that's changed since we wrote it was the line 'I'm a far cry from being a one night stand, but I ain't ready for a ring on my hand,' and it made a lot of sense in 2015 (but it's) a little different now. I love this ring on my hand, but I feel like it didn't lose, because of that one line, the song didn't lose its credibility or kind of what it means to me. We almost changed it before we went it out to radio but we decided against it.”
“In Between” sits in the Top Five and climbing on the Mediabase chart.
