Traffic co-founder Dave Mason has just announced the cancellation of his upcoming “Traffic Jam 2024” fall West Coast tour. During a recent routine appointment, doctors detected that Mason had a serious heart condition that required immediate medical attention, which prompted the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer to immediately cancel all of his tour dates. Mason made the announcement of his tour cancellation with a post on Instagram on Monday (September 23), captioning his post, “I’m heartbroken to have to cancel these dates, but it’s Doctor’s orders. I’ll be back, and better than ever, in 2025.” The post did share this positive prognosis for Mason, sharing that, “His team of doctors expect a full and successful recovery, and Mason plans to resume his touring plans in 2025.” Mason just released his new memoir, Only You Know & I Know, earlier in September, and he has also canceled a few scheduled book readings along with his upcoming live performances.
