Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, star of TV's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer,'' says any deal to move her show from the WB to another network would have to be over her undead body, in a manner of speaking. "I will stay on 'Buffy' if, and only if, 'Buffy' stays on the WB,'' Gellar was quoted on January 23 as telling an E! Online television columnist.
A “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” sequel series is close to happening with Sarah Michelle Gellar. It’s, quote, “nearing a pilot order at Hulu”, according to sources.
The sequel series will focus on a NEW slayer, but Sarah Michelle will have a recurring role. There’s no word what the new show will be called or if there’s any other returning actors.
The original series ran from 1997 to 2003. Creator Joss Whedon will NOT be back . . . he has faced allegations of creating a toxic work environment on both “Buffy” and the spin-off series “Angel”.
Also, fun fact: Did you know Dolly Parton has always been involved with “Buffy”? She’s a producer through her production company, Sandollar. Dolly recently commented on the revival possibly being in the works.
