While Buddy Guy is set to retire from the road following his 2025 Damn Right Encore Tour this summer, the 88-year-old blues legend continues to create new music and seek out special appearances. Guy was recently added to the final show of the spring “Experience Hendrix” tour, where he will perform alongside other renowned guitarists while paying tribute to Jimi. “Thank you to the Hendrix Tour family for bringing me back to perform at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta on April 12,” Guy said. “I’ll never forget meeting Jimi at that club in New York in 1968, and I’m so grateful we had the chance to become friends. It’s an honor to help keep his legacy alive.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also collaborated with Switchfoot on a new blues-rock song called “Last Man Standing.” Frontman Jon Foreman says watching Guy perform inspired him to play guitar. “I wanted this song to be something worthy of the man who helped shape my musical journey,” he says.
