Ayo Edebiri To Write (And Possibly Star) In ‘Barney’ Live-Action Movie

Ayo Edebiri, best known for her Emmy-winning role The Bear, is set to write and potentially star in the upcoming live-action Barney movie being developed by A24, Daniel Kaluuya, and Mattel Films. Kaluuya, a lead producer on the project, will reportedly not act in the film alongside Edebiri, as plot details remain under wraps. The project, first announced back in 2019, plans to offer a fresh approach to the beloved children’s character, departing from the recent animated reboot.
