Tell me you have too much money, without telling me you have too much money . . .
A Flamin’ Hot Cheeto that kind of looks like a Pokémon character just sold at auction for an INSANE amount of money.
Fans think it looks like a Charizard . . . one of the rarer characters . . . so it got the nickname “Cheetozard.” (Here’s a photo.)
A place in Georgia called 1st and Goal Collectibles went viral last spring after posting a video of it. They said they’d been hanging onto it for about five years. It’s three inches long, and they framed it to look like a trading card.
So how much did they get? An online auction site called Goldin listed it last month with a starting bid of $250. Pretty pricey for a single Cheeto.
But the auction didn’t end until this past weekend . . . and it sold for $88,000. (!!!)
The winning bid was 72 grand. But when you tack on fees, it’s $87,840.
Whoever bought it apparently thinks it’ll be worth even more than that someday. Or . . . it would be way cooler if they bought it just to EAT it.
