On Friday (March 28), Bachman-Turner Overdrive unveiled their first new track in more than 25 years, “60 Years Ago,” featuring a guest guitar solo from fellow Canadian rock icon Neil Young. The release coincides with the upcoming “Back In Overdrive Tour,” which begins with a Canadian leg in April followed by a US tour in July and August. Following the deaths of classic BTO members Robbie Bachman and Tim Bachman in 2023, Randy Bachman recruited his son, singer/songwriter Tal Bachman and Tal’s wife, Koko Bachman on drums, along with classic BTO member Fred Turner to cut the new single, which pays homage to the band’s Winnipeg roots and the vibrant music scene of the ’60s. BTO’s touring lineup will include Randy, Tal, Koko, Lance Lapointe, and Brent Knudsen. “We sound better than ever,” says Randy. “We’re playing all the hits, as well as diving deep into the album cuts, and the response from fans has been incredible. The BTO sound is BACK!!” (Consequence of Sound)
