UPDATE 11 a.m.: Baby Sussex has a name! Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor
The Duke & Duchess of Sussex (Harry & Meghan) appeared at Windsor Castle today to officially introduce ‘Baby Sussex,’ as they’re calling him (for now). In a break with royal tradition, this was a private photo-op in a private setting. In the past, royals have appeared on the steps of the hospital with huge crowds cheering to introduce their babies to the world.
I gotta say, I felt awkward watching this! It’s just a bit of an antiquated tradition to ‘introduce’ the baby to the world. I do appreciate their take on the situation– on their terms and at least a bit more private. Watch below:
