Here’s the buzz on the tech-street: Apple is planning to kill iTunes as early as TODAY!
What’s the deal? Well, iTunes has been around for 18 years. Apple’s plan is to break it up in to separate apps for music, podcasts, TV, books, etc. When iTunes was created, it was just a legal one-off from Limewire (lolz). Podcasts were barely a twinkle in Apple’s eye. It wasn’t quite designed to carry so much STUFF.
So, think about all the updates there have been– you’re basically making software updates to 18 years-worth of patched-up coding, which may include services you don’t even use!
The buzz became a hum over the weekend after Apple seemingly deleted all of iTunes’s social media platforms.
But don’t worry too much, you won’t lose any of your purchased or downloaded content. It will just be in a different spot. -Taylor
