Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off may reunite in a comedy film, The Best Is Yet To Come, directed by Jon Turteltaub. The movie, based on a French film, will feature the duo in a story about best friends embarking on a road trip to find an estranged son amidst a ticking clock and life’s missed opportunities. Fox has canceled Rescue HI-Surf after one season due to declining viewership. The planned Baywatch reboot was speculated as a potential factor. Despite high ratings for its premiere, the show failed to retain viewers. The scripted series was replaced by Rob Lowe’s game show. It followed open-water lifeguards on O’ahu’s North Shore. Bravo has ordered new shows including The Real Housewives of Rhode Island and revived Shahs of Sunset as The Valley: Persian Style. A new version of Ladies of London and Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition are also in the lineup. Real Housewives of New York and New Jersey updates were not included. (Variety)


Octavio Pisano and Juliana Martinez will leave Law & Order: SVU after season 26. Pisano joined in season 23 as an undercover agent, while Martinez joined this season as a homicide detective. The Mariska Hargitay series is on the bubble for season 27, but it’s assumed ex-writer Michele Fazekas will be the show’s first female showrunner. (People)


Gil Junger, director of the cult classic 90s teen rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You, is working on a trilogy of sequels with the original producer. The first film, 10 Things I Hate About Dating, is currently in development, with potential appearances by original cast members, and a desire to honor the late Heath Ledger. (Variety)
