According to a new study out of England, when couples shared dessert on a first date, they were twice as likely to go out again as couples who didn’t. The real key here is the act of sharing, not getting hyped up on sugar. But who knows, maybe that helps too.

Researchers concluded that the act of literally feeding the person dessert is a sign of chemistry. Well obliviously. How many dates have you been on where that has actually happened?

93% of couples that fed each other dessert on a first date were interested in a a second dates. This was compared to 43% of couples that didn’t share food.
