The Sangamon County Coroner’s office and Springfield Police are investigating the recovery of human remains Thursday evening in a wooded area near MacArthur Boulevard and Wabash Avenue.
Coroner Jim Allmon said positive identification of the remains is pending.
An autopsy was scheduled for the past weekend.
