Two large festivals continue in the area this weekend. The Menard County Fair in Petersburg runs through Sunday with country star Gary Allen in concert tonight, a truck and tractor pull with fireworks Saturday night and a demolition derby on Sunday.
The Chatham Jaycees’ 50th Annual Sweet Corn Festival is today and Saturday at Chatham Community Park, featuring 20-thousand ears of sweet corn, vendors, and music featuring Captain Geech tonight and Deja Voodoo on Saturday.
Proceeds from tomorrow’s Sweetcorn 5K will be donated to the Chatham Public Library’s Backyard Program in honor of Bradley Lund, one of the five victim’s of April’s tragedy at YNOT Outdoors.
