Unemployment in Illinois dropped to 4.6 percent in June as the number of nonfarm payrolls increased to a record-high 6.175 million according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
The agencies said the number of jobs in the state is about 35,000 higher than one year earlier.
