A Springfield man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman whose remains were found along Interstate 55 near Stevenson Drive in March of 2024.
Illinois State Police and Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser said Wednesday that 57-yearold Robert Lee Jr. is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of concealment of a homicidal death.
Illinois Department of Transportation workers found the remains near the southbound ramp. The victim was later identified as 54-year-old Teresa Coleman of Springfield. Lee was arrested on Wednesday and taken to the Sangamon County Jail to await a detention hearing.
