Have you ever been listening to someone, and they utter something that immediately makes you question if they have ANY IDEA what they’re talking about?
People on social media are sharing the “buzzwords” that immediately set off their “[B.S.] alarm” . . . and here are some examples:
1. Calibrate. “I work at a school district. Every year there’s a new [B.S.] buzzword. This year it’s ‘calibrate.’ That word comes out in a meeting or agenda, and you know the nonsense is about to get deep.”
2. Family . . . in reference to the work environment.
3. Team Player . . . at work. “Anytime I hear it, I know that I’m about to do the majority of the work for zero credit and little reward.”
4. “Integrated with A.I.”
5. Unprecedented. “Makes me miss precedented times.”
6. Alpha or Beta . . . in terms of people.
7. “I will try to keep this brief.” Or, “Quick question . . .”
8. Natural. It’s linked to healthiness, but a lot of bad stuff is “natural.”
9. Bespoke or Artisanal.
10. Gaslighting. The word everyone was trying to use, usually using it wrong.
11. “Growth mindset.”
12. Thought leader . . . especially when it’s a self-proclaimed title.
13. Leveraged.
14. Synergy.
15. Woke.
16. Influencer.
17. Aesthetic.
18. Holistic
19. “Work-life balance.”
20. Seamless . . . when discussing processes, changes, et cetera. “It is NOT going to be seamless, Todd. It’s never seamless.”
