Illinois Governor JB Pritzker alongside Lt. Governor Julianna Stratton and Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul signed two gun safety bills on Monday.
The bill entitled Improving Safe Gun Storage Requirements, strengthens Illinois’ firearm storage law to further prevent access to firearms for children, at-risk individuals, and individuals prohibited from firearm use.
The other bill entitled Strengthening Illegal Firearm Tracing Systems, strengthens firearm tracing in all cases where a gun is used unlawfully, associated with a crime, or recovered at the scene of a crime.
Governor Pritzker had this to say about the bills at their signing, “Today’s legislation contains common sense measures to support law enforcement and promote gun safety in our homes and across our state.”
