One of the first “awkward” conversations when you’re dating someone new is the inevitable talk about your number of previous partners . . . or “body count.” Especially if you’re in long-term relationship mode.
But according to a new study, you’re overall number matters less than your MOMENTUM. People prefer partners whose sexual activity decreased over time, even if their total number of past partners is high.
If you think about it, that makes sense. You might not care about how wild someone was five, 10, or 15 years ago . . . if they’ve settled down. It’s a sign that they’re more mature, and are less of a risk.
The study covered thousands of people in 11 countries. But despite cultural differences, this finding was similar for both men and women. So, there wasn’t a sex-based “double standard.”
