A convicted sex offender was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender.
34-year-old Justin Johnson was convicted of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse in Sangamon County in 2022 and was subsequently incarcerated at Taylorville Correctional Center. After his release in May, Johnson did not comply with the legal requirement to register as a sex offender.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force, arrested Johnson.
