The next phase of water main relocation for the Springfield Rail Improvement Project begins today as Reservoir Street is closed between 9th and 11th streets.
Work is expected to take about four weeks. About 2,000 feet of 24-inch water main is being relocated for construction of an underpass on North Grand Avenue.
Final phases will include a later closure of 11th Street between Reservoir and Converse streets as the total project is expected to be completed this fall.
