An ordinance is on the Springfield City Council agenda for Tuesday to transfer ownership of Robin Roberts Stadium from the Springfield Park District to the city, and in turn transfer the facility to the not-for-profit Friends of Robin Roberts Stadium.
Owners of the primary tenant of the stadium, the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes baseball team, have called for upgrades and repairs to the decades-old facility.
If approved by the city and park district, closing on the transfer to the Friends of Robin Roberts Stadium is expected by the end of this year.
