Wyndham City Center Owner Facing Insurance Fraud Claims

An insurance company has filed documents in federal court this week alleging a claim for extensive water damage at the Wyndham Springfield City Centre in March was denied because the hotel’s owner was responsible for the damage.

Affiliated FM Insurance responded to a complaint filed in federal court by a holding group run by the hotel’s general manager, Al Rajabi.

The 30-story downtown hotel and conference center has been closed since the damage occurred in March. A hearing in the federal case has been scheduled for September 25th in Urbana.
