The CEO of SIU Medicine announced on Friday that he will retire at the end of his current contract in August 2026.
Dr. Jerry Kruse is also dean and provost of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
He joined the school in 1984. SIU plans to launch a national search for his successor in coming months.
