Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has signed an executive order that directs state agencies to identify up to 4% of Fiscal Year 2026 General Funds appropriations to reserve.
Pritzker said the reason for this in part is to mitigate the impact of what Pritzker described as “Trump’s disastrous economic policies” while maintaining core services.
Agencies must submit progress reports to the Governor’s Office and the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget within 30 days.
