A woman recently shared on Reddit that her boss keeps a spreadsheet tracking how long employees spend in the bathroom — including her.
She received an email reprimanding her for taking three bathroom breaks totaling 17 minutes, which her boss claimed was five minutes over the team average of 12 minutes.
To make matters worse, the boss suggested she schedule her bathroom time during lunch to remain “productive.”
Reddit users were quick to call out the behavior, labeling it “micromanagement at its worst.” One commenter pointed out that tracking bathroom time borders on harassment, while another noted that everyone’s health needs are different, and punishing breaks could even lead to legal trouble for the company.
