Weebles Rocks for Hunger: A Community United Against Hunger

By Michele Mitchell Nov 20, 2025 | 2:51 PM

92.7 WQLZ proudly partnered with MJ Kellner to host the annual Weebles Rocks for Hunger Food Drive from November 13–15, 2025, benefiting the Salvation Army of Springfield. This three-day event brought together music lovers, local businesses, and generous listeners to make a real difference for families in need during the holiday season.

The food drive featured two live broadcasts on WQLZ, hosted by morning show personality Ryan Fantozzi and nighttime host Alexa, on November 14th and 15th. These broadcasts helped spread the word and rally even more support from the community.

The event wrapped up on Saturday, November 15th, with an unforgettable concert at Weebles Bar and Grill featuring:

  • Dysfunctional Family
  • The A.D.A.M. Music Project from Oklahoma
  • Backhand Blue from Nashville

Thanks to the support of the community, the event collected 1,485 pounds of food and raised $629 in donations. Even the bands joined in the spirit of giving by bringing non-perishable items to contribute.

Ryan Fantozzi of 92.7 WQLZ summed up the experience perfectly:

β€œIt was incredible to see our listeners support others in the community to make sure they have plenty of food during the holidays. Even the bands who played on Saturday night brought non-perishables to help support our Weebles Rocks for Hunger Food Drive.”

This event is a shining example of how music and community can come together to fight hunger and spread hope. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, attended, and rocked out for a great cause!
