A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Springfield and the surrounding areas beginning at midnight tonight and continuing through 6 a.m. on Sunday.
While some rain may mix in at times this will mainly be a snow event with the heaviest snow arriving Saturday afternoon which will make travel on Saturday extremely difficult and quite dangerous.
Snow totals are expected to be anywhere between 3 and 7 inches.
