The Springfield Police have arrested a man after an attempted burglary in November.
Darrion C. Walker was the individual arrested. An officer located Walker at the corner of 11th and Bruce, matching the suspect’s description. Walker was found with multiple credit and debit cards bearing different names, including one belonging to a vehicle theft victim.
An individual identified Walker from camera footage as the suspect who stole a vehicle and purse from 3092 Adlai Stevenson earlier that day.
Walker was involved in stealing a 2010 Ford Edge, which he later wrecked before fleeing the scene.
Walker was taken to Sangamon County Jail under two counts of residential burglary, one count of purse snatching, one count of burglary, one count of criminal damage to property, and one count of aggravated battery, with a court date set for Feb. 2, 2026.
