Sturla Holm Laegreid from Norway won a bronze medal in biathlon . . . that’s the “sport” that combines cross-country skiing and SHOOTING.  But he couldn’t enjoy it, because he was HEARTBROKEN.

Instead of celebrating, he made a crazy confession in front of the ENTIRE WORLD.  He said, quote, “There is someone I wanted to share this with who might not be watching today.

“Six months ago, I met the love of my life, the most beautiful and kindest person in the world.  Three months ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life and was unfaithful, and I told her about it a week ago.

“This has been the worst week of my life.”

He added, quote, “I had the gold medal in life, and I am sure there are many people who will see things differently, but I only have eyes for her.

“Sport has come second these last few days.  Yes, I wish I could share this with her.”

(Here’s video.  It’s not in English, but the emotion is universal.)

(It’s hard to stand up for a cheater, but this could be the most romantic thing I’ve ever seen a guy do . . . after messing up as badly as a man can, of course.)
