Several residents asked the Sangamon County Board during Wednesday’s meeting to not rush approval of a data center in the southwest portion of the county.
Resident Lori McKiernan asked the board to suggest a 180-day moratorium to resolve many possible negative impacts and negotiate a community benefits agreement.
The county board is expected to take a final vote on the data center next month.
That meeting has been moved to March 23rd at the Bank of Springfield Center.
