A Springfield couple is in the Sangamon County Jail on charges including endangering the life or health of a child.
40-year-old Ashley Wardlow pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday and was ordered to remain in custody.
A hearing for her husband, 32-year-old Willie Wardlow, is scheduled for today.
Prosecutors said a woman in the Wardlow home on Sunday saw a child tied up and blindfolded, and took a video of the scene to police.
Officers found the 5-year-old girl malnourished with injuries including broken bones, lacerations and a burn.
Ashley Wardlow pleaded guilty to battery and bodily harm to a child in 2020 and was placed on probation.
