A Chicago-based foodservice conglomerate has announced it has purchased Springfield-based Bunn Commercial LP, formerly known as Bunn-O-Matic.
Ali Group announced the acquisition on Thursday.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Ali Group was founded in 1963. The company’s website says it designs, manufactures and services a broad line of commercial and institutional foodservice equipment.
Bunn was founded in 1840 and has been family-owned for five generations, beginning its beverage equipment business in 1957.
Bunn is Springfield’s largest manufacturer with about 800 employees according to the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance.
