Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon has confirmed the death of a 51-year-old Springfield man who was a Springfield Park District employee.
The man was transported by EMS to HSHS St. John’s Hospital’s emergency room after being found under a mower at Lincoln Green’s golf course.
He was pronounced deceased by hospital staff shortly after his arrival.
An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
The Springfield Park District have released a statement concerning the tragic accident.
The statement reads “ We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred at Lincoln Greens Golf Course today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
The death remains under investigation by the Springfield Park District Police and the Sangamon County Coroner.
