Springfield Police responding to reports of shots fired in the early hours of March 25th ended up arresting on man on various drug charges.
Labaron P. Wallace, 38, was originally pulled over for speeding.
Officers then noticed an uncased and unsecured black-colored pistol in plain view sitting in the passenger seat.
Authorities then took Wallace to the Sangamon County Jail where he admitted he had Crack Cocaine on his person.
Wallace has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a school, controlled substance in a penal institute, unlawful use of a weapon, unsecured and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and armed violence.
