In a new report released by Trust for America’s Health, Illinois is one of twenty states to have earned a “high-performance” state for emergency preparedness.
The annual report uses 10 key indicators to evaluate a state’s ability to respond to various public health emergencies.
Illinois was ranked in the “middle performance” category just last year.
According to IDPH the move to the “high-performance” tier is due to ongoing investments in emergency preparedness infrastructure, workforce preparation, and response systems.
