A Chicago man was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to a robbery on an Amtrak train as it passed through Macoupin County last month.
Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison said 30-year-old Marquese Douglas was sentenced on Thursday.
The prosecutor said Douglas implied he had a weapon when he passed a note to a train employee demanding money.
Douglas received more than $450 in the theft. Springfield Police arrested Douglas when the train stopped in the Capital City.
