Several Independence Day celebrations and fireworks displays are planned in addition to Friday’s Rock the Dock event at Lake Springfield Marina.
Rock the Dock activities on Friday include live music, face painting, a dunk tank, games, food trucks and fireworks at dusk.
The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce will host fireworks in downtown Springfield on Saturday at 9 p.m. The Springfield Municipal Band will perform in the Y Block near 4th and Jackson streets from 7:30 until the fireworks show.
